One of the great computer desks that I believe deserves to be in their own category is a glass computer desk. This is such a nice clean desk that has a universal look to it, it separates itself from many others types of desks that are available to you. Glass top computer desks will go with almost everything and anything you can put with it. The versatility of style is so important like with a glass corner computer desk and you can benefit from if you decide to choose this desk for your own home office environment. Many sites sell these desks and they come shipped to your front door. I would not recommend this due to the fact that 3 out of the total 5 desks that I have purchased online for great prices came to my front door with the glass top broken. It was not bad packaging or even cheap packaging materials, it was just simply too thin of glass to handle being tossed around by the shipping companies. That is something just to think about before you order online. I always like to actually see my furniture anyway before I purchase it to do my own quality check. I would recommend this desk to anyone that is interested even if there are some negatives to this kind of computer desk. The positives and sleek look strongly outweigh the negatives.
First complaints about having a glass computer desk is the fact that if you have kids or smaller children in the house the fingerprints are unbearable. This is the first thing that will make your nice clean sleek desk look horrible if not cleaned regularly.
This also leads into the dust issue. Glass top desks show dust like no other. You go from having a great clean look to having a foggy top that just simply looks dirty. It can be extremely frustrating to always have to polish and clean to keep the look that you originally bought the desk for.
Another complaint is the fact that glass is extremely cold. The insulating properties of this type of material are not very good. So if you expect to have a nice warm surface to work on a glass computer desk is not for you. Some of the more expensive glass computer desks are the ones that have special glass tops. A tempered glass computer desk has more warming properties and can keep heat better than regular glass.
Tempered glass computer desks also come in variety of color tops. You can find them with metal frames and you can almost get any color you wish from: reds, blues, greens, yellows, and your smoke colors.
Other than these negatives if you can live with them I would definitely recommend a glass computer desk. They are probably one of the easiest kinds of desks to match to any relaxing environment or room you are creating. This includes other furniture especially a drafting chair, if you are using this desk as a drafting table and having a hard time matching things. Or even simple executive chairs meant to gain respect. Any color will match as well as style to a glass computer desk. You can get your work done and still have a great looking place to enjoy.
